New Ratings Service takes the Emotion and Subjectivity out of Investing in the Stock Market
Upperville, VA (May 20, 2004): Individual Investors now have access to a powerful tool that removes all subjectivity from investment decision making. Analytical Investing, a mathematical ratings service, uses a sophisticated computer model to rate companies based entirely on quantitative factors.
Established in 2003, Analytical Investing is a stock market research firm that provides ratings and analysis of individual stocks. The source of the ratings is a computer model that uses statistical analysis to analyze the fundamentals and trends of over 5000 publicly-traded companies.
"We believe in a disciplined, objective approach to investing," explains John Turnbull, who founded the company. "The idea is to eliminate emotional factors from investment decisions. Our computer model statistically analyzes each company's current and past financial data, as well as market and industry data. The objective of this analysis is to find reasons NOT to own a stock, with surviving companies becoming candidates for purchase. This may sound a bit strange to some, but we believe it to be the optimal way to analyze a company's prospects."
The Analytical Investing service is for individual investors or investment advisors who actively manage their portfolios. It provides investors with a straightforward and effective way to build and maintain a portfolio through the use of a numerical rating system and asset allocation recommendations.
"We believe in taking a long-term view of investing," says Turnbull. "There may be conditions under which short-term selling is warranted, but we are not market technicians or short-term traders. Our philosophy is that short-term price and volume movements do not form a sound basis for investing decisions."
A resident of Upperville, Virginia, Turnbull received his Masters degree in applied mathematics from the Johns Hopkins University. Prior to starting Analytical Investing, he worked as a research & development manager and consultant for several different technology firms.
